Bathroom Remodeling AlabamaEveryone always talks about “Spring Cleaning”—when you go through your home and throw or donate the junk and clean up the stuff you don’t need and organize everything.  But what about summer, fall or winter?  Who cares what season it is!  It’s never a bad time to organize yourself and your home, so don’t let the weather or the season be a reason to procrastinate!

Start with one room at a time and let’s start with probably one of the smallest and easiest rooms in your home—your bathroom!

Here’s some simple tips on how you might be able to organize your bathroom, whether you’re looking to remodel or redesign your bathroom.

  1. Under Sink Storage Space.  In some bathrooms, one of the most under-utilized areas for storage is under the sink.  Some bathrooms have sinks with no shelving or storage underneath it, but there are some easy ways to utilize this space, such as a vanity skirt to hide shelves where you might store things, or even re-modeling your sink to include open shelving, where you can arrange towels and other baskets to store items under the sink.  It helps de-clutter the counter and even becomes a decorative feature of your bathroom.
  2. Recessed Cabinets. If your counter space is big enough, consider building recessed cabinets.  There are some different ways that you can do it, including putting it between his and hers sinks or two cabinets on the outer side of his and hers sinks.  These cabinets can hold a variety of items and even contain shelving for decorative vases or flowers, along with drawers for a variety of items in your bathroom.
  3. Shelves and Organizers.  If you have a linen closet in your bathroom, consider looking at all the various closet organizers to help you organize the closet and use the closet space to its maximum potential. From drawers to hold smaller toiletry items to larger drawers or shelving to hold towels and toilet paper, organizing the linen closet is a great way to start the organization process.  You can also look to have built-in shelving placed inside your bathroom. Some ideas are floating shelves above the toilet, shelving above the sink and just below the bathroom mirror.
  4. Decorative Containers.  There’s always ways to find decorative ways to store your stuff, especially for your bathroom.  Consider using decorative containers to hold items such as cotton balls, cotton swabs and other items that make for great decorations on the bathroom countertop.
  5. Don’t Have Room? Make Room!  Don’t think you have enough room to organize your bathroom?  Enough with the excuses!  Make room!  If you have a large unused wall, consider having shelving built over the wall or even into the wall for added storage space and even decorative opportunities for the bathroom.

Whatever storage options you decide to utilize with your bathroom, just remember that any construction work is best done by a professional.  Many professional remodeling companies can add options to your bathroom for very reasonable cost and can even offer suggestions for you and your bathroom space.  It’s better to get it done right the first time!  For those in the Birmingham and Montgomery Alabama areas, contact NewBath Alabama today!
