Rejuvenate Body and Soul in Tub

By Laurie Kaiser

Whether you’ve had a long week at work or developed aching muscles working in the garden, what better way to relax than in a warm bath? It’s an inexpensive way to make yourself feel like a million bucks. If you are looking to remodel your bathroom, this is the perfect opportunity to choose a bath that says “relaxation” to you.

A small space? Consider a tub with a 90-degree angle that can fit into a corner space. Even a smaller tub can be made with modern, luxurious touches. With a larger space, you might consider a tub to accommodate two for a couple’s bath. Much like an outdoor hot tub, you can opt for a deck to be built around the tub, which provides access to towels and toiletries.

Regardless of what type of tub you choose, make it your sanctuary. Here are a few tips to make your bath a rejuvenating … READ MORE

Because old tubs become scratched and chipped over time, bacteria and germs can get inside these tiny spaces and multiply. Simply recaulking or reglazing isn’t enough to solve the problem. Replacing the tub with a new acrylic tub or shower, which is impenetrable to germs, will do the job.

A new shower is also safer. If you have an elderly or disabled relative living at home, a walk-in shower prevents trips and falls. Falls are the leading cause of death (caused by complications) in seniors over the age of 65. And the bathroom is one of the most dangerous rooms in the house for this demographic. A walk-in shower with a grab bar is one way to prevent such tragedies.

A shower conversion isn’t a project that amateurs should take on, however. Without the proper know-how, you could destroy … READ MORE
