Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do You Just Cover Up The Old Mold and Mildew?

No.  We have to make sure we clean and prep the surface properly so that we don’t cover up the mold and mildew, so we use a unique adhesive bonding material.  The product is warranted for a lifetime and it’s got to be installed properly.  So no… we don’t just cover up something in the bathroom.

2.What is NewBath Alabama's most popular service?

Currently the Tub to Shower Conversion where we actually remove a tub and put in a nice, open, walk in shower that has a low threshold to create a safer and healthier environment for homeowners.

3.Is this type of work something I could just do myself?

No it’s really not.  NewBath Alabama's installers have to be highly skilled and well trained to do what they do because to get it done in one day and do a quality job, they have to know exactly what they are doing.  The materials we use and our process is very systematized and has to be… to do a quality job.

4.What exactly is acrylic and how is it different from fiberglass?

Acrylic is the same material they use to make football helmets, bulletproof glass, and dentures from. So it’s extremely durable and is going to last for a lifetime and is warranted to stay that way, whereas fiberglass is actually a very porous material with a resin coating painted over that and then an even thinner clear coating over that.  So a lot of the new remodeling materials just don’t last like they used to.

5.Do you offer flexible terms/financing options?
Yes!  Payment options. Same as cash options. These are explained at the time of estimate.  Ask your NewBath Alabama consultant for details!

6.What areas do you service?

Birmingham, Anniston, Gadsden, Sylacauga, Talladega, Tuscaloosa and in Greater Montgomery we service Montgomery, Troy, Greenville, Selma, Auburn, Opelika.  See our map for a list of counties we service or call if you do not see your city or county listed.

7.How long does it take until NewBath Alabama come's out to install my new bathroom?

It typically takes about 3-4 weeks and then your one day install.

8.How does NewBath Alabama remodel bathrooms so fast?

Our installers have to be highly skilled and well trained and we have a very systematized process that is so unlike traditional construction… so that we can get it done, in most cases, in just one day.  If someone without experience were to try this process they would be lucky to get it done in a couple of weeks.  Our guys are exceptional with a defined process and also with specialized materials and adhesives.  They ensure that the job is done right and lasts a lifetime.

9.Is a tub liner a spray on liner?

No it is not.  It is a thick acrylic liner over the tub.  You can beat it with a small baseball bat and it won’t crack or chip, peel, stain or rust and it will last a lifetime.

10.Can you install a shower liner?

Absolutely!  In most cases we can custom mold our shower pan material, and also go over the walls to reline those old tile showers without having to tear them out.  If done the conventional remodeling way… it would take weeks of time and be an unbelievable mess to tear out that entire old tile shower and redo it, and it typically would be a greater expense to the customer too.

11.Who comes out to our home and does the installation?

NewBath Alabama's own employees do the work.  We don’t hire sub-contractors because we can’t.  These guys have to be so skilled and well trained to do this in one day.

12.What can you do about the window in my bath?

There are three options when it comes to windows. (1) Close the window up.  We have a special, simple way of doing that. (2) Trim it out with a very nice acrylic window trim back to the window and also around it where it can still be opened, or, (3) we can put a nice acrylic block window in where the old metal or wood was.

13.Are Tub Liners new technology?

Not at all. Tub liner technology has been around almost 30 years in the hotel industry.  It has just more recently made its way to the south. Another reason you may not be familiar with it is because it cannot be done by the homeowner or a “Do It Yourselfer” because it is very specialized technology.  You won’t see it in stores and you will only see it done by custom companies like NewBath Alabama.
